420 students, all the way from nursery school through to sixth form, added a splash of colour to their uniforms by attending school in their wellies, to raise money for Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust.

Rendcomb College and Junior School started Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust’s ‘Wear your Wellies for Wildlife’ week in good fashion by all paying £1 to wear their wellies all day at school, even in Chapel!

Encouraging the pupils to support a good cause, consider the importance of their surrounding environment and have some fun to boot (if you excuse the pun!) was a very welcome opportunity!

“It was a genuine pleasure to have members of Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust, who do such valuable work, with us this morning.” Said Roland Martin, Headmaster of Rendcomb College.

“Encouraging the pupils to support a good cause, consider the importance of their surrounding environment and have some fun to boot (if you excuse the pun!) was a very welcome opportunity!"

“It was really lovely to see all the students and staff ‘Wearing their Wellies for Wildlife,’ the school is set in beautiful grounds and all the students are so enthusiastic about the wildlife there.” Said Jan Ryder, Event Organiser.

“Alexander Ross aged eight had decorated his wellies with natural materials and a cuddly hedgehog and caterpillar!”

Wear your Wellies for Wildlife is a fun way of raising awareness for Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust and each year hundreds of people raise money for local nature conservation projects by wearing their wellies for the day, from local school children to businesses, anyone can take part.
