Research And Publications

We regularly carry out surveys of the county's habitats and species and these are occasionally published and made available to the public

Our most recent publication is a snapshot of land use change and habitat loss between 1973 and 2009 entitled "The State of the Natural Environment in Gloucestershire 2011".

It is intended to expand and add to the State of the Environment Reporting as more survey and analysis is carried out.

Priorities for 2011 - 12 will be further publication of land use maps comparing historic and current land use; further new land use surveys to increase our knowledge about the extent of habitat loss in the county; the ecological status of many of our most important (but unprotected wildlife sites); and consideration of the impact of non-native invasive species on Gloucestershire habitats and species.

Results of these studies will be published here when available.
