Where is Greystones?
Located just on the outskirts of the busy Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water, Greystones is within walking distance of the village.
How do I get there?
Just a short distance from the centre of the village, head for Bourton-on-the-Water which is located on the A429 between Cirencester and Stow on the Wold.
- From Gloucester, take the A417 to the Air Balloon roundabout then take the A436 through Andoversford which will lead you onto the A429. Head into the village on Station Road and Greystones can be found a couple of hundred yards before the coach park.
- From Cheltenham, take the A40 to Andoversford before joining the A436, eventually linking up with the A429 outside Bourton where Greystones can be found along Station Road heading into the village.
- From Bristol, head north on the M5 and exit at junction 11A. Follow the A417 and take the A436 towards Andoversford and follow the above instructions for Gloucester and Cheltenham.

Park at the coach park on Station Road, a short walk from Greystones, where there is space for over a thousand vehicles. This is a pay and display car park. Admission to Greystones is free.
Greystones Lane, the area around the visitor centre (including the Discovery Barn, café and toilets), and the path leading past the Freedom Milking Parlour to the iron-age roundhouse are all wheelchair and pushchair accessible. Parking for blue badge holders is available on site, although it's recommended to phone the office on 01451 810853 to confirm and get directions before visiting.
Using public transport
The nearest bus stop to Greystones can be found outside the Bourton-on-the-Water post office, which is less than a ten minute walk to the reserve. The 818 service runs from Stow-on-the-Wold while the 802 service operates from Kingham.
Other public bus routes to Bourton-on-the-Water arrive in the village from Cheltenham, Cirencester, Moreton-in-Marsh, Chipping Norton and Witney.
The closest train station is at Moreton-in-Marsh while Kingham Station operates trains from London Paddington.
The nature reserve is open seven days a week, 365 days a year.

From Thursday 4 January the usual café and Discovery Barn opening hours will apply: Thursday to Sunday, and bank holiday Mondays, from 10am until 4pm.The Discovery Barn is also open Mondays to Wednesdays when volunteer cover allows. If you are planning a visit on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday and would like to visit the Discovery Barn please phone the office on 01451 810853 to confirm whether it will be open.
What's the admission cost?
Greystones is completely free to visit - there's no admission fee to pay.
Other useful information
We welcome dogs at Greystones, however all dogs must be kept on leads and are not permitted inside the Discovery Barn of Cafe. We have a pooch park outside the café and outside seating; you are welcome to park your pooch and come in or make your order via the external service hatch and sit outside.
Greystones is a working farm, there are grazing cattle and farm machinery on site. Upcoming improvements – please note that during winter 2018/19 we will be building an additional toilet block close to the Education Room and an undercover seating area adjacent to the café; while improvements are in progress we will be open as usual.
The Oxfordshire Way long distance path, which starts in Bourton-on-the-Water and ends 68 miles eastwards at Henley-on-Thames, runs through the reserve.
