As National Nest Box Week gets underway, The Wildlife Trusts are urging people to put their match-making skills to work this Valentine’s Day by providing a romantic getaway for our feathered friends.

Stroud Wildlife Watch with Jilly Cooper

Stroud area Wildlife Watch group had a fantastic day last weekend conducting a garden bird watch with Jilly Cooper in her own garden for the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch.

Jilly was delighted to be able to show the children around her beautifully kept wildlife garden, complete with a wildlife pond and streams running through it. JOIN THE DEAN GREEN TEAM

Working voluntarily on joint Forestry Commission and Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust sites and nature reserves, the Dean Green Team carry out valuable wildlife conservation work in the Forest of Dean area.

Led by staff from both organisations, they meet on Tuesdays from September through to April and carry out a variety of tasks from scrub clearance, pond maintenance and butterfly surveys to ancient woodland management tasks like coppicing and hedge-laying.
