Sudeley Castle

We are proud to be working in partnership with Sudeley Castle.

Sudeley Castle is set against the dramatic backdrop of the Cotswolds just north of Cheltenham.

This 15th-century stately home is surrounded by picturesque gardens. It is open throughout the year for the public to enjoy, and with royal connections stretching back 1,000 years the entire family will love exploring this historic place.

The site is managed organically and includes niche gardens, castle ruins and a medieval stew pond. It supports hundreds of wildlife species including slow worms, toads, bee orchids, disease-resistant elms, bumble bees, dragonflies, kingfishers and nuthatches.

Since we formed our partnership with Sudeley Castle, its owner Lady Ashcombe has pledged to give the Trust 30p for every purchased entrance ticket.

In 2016 Lady Ashcombe presented us with a donation of over £20,000, £16,000 of which came from ticket sales.

Our Community team works with Sudeley Castle staff to provide lesson plans and trails for schools and other groups as part of our joint work to inspire future generations to enjoy all that our native wildlife has to offer.

We are humbled by the support for the Trust from Sudeley Castle and Lady Ashcombe
