Led by Michael McQuilton a local bushcraft expert, renowned for his buschraft survival skills and popular YouTube channel.

Bushcraft skills have been used for thousands of years by our ancestors. People lived outdoors, using natural resources in conjunction with basic skills to live within the natural world. The evolution of the modern world has drastically disconnected our relationship with our wild surroundings.

This course reconnects people with basic Bushcraft skills, offering better understanding of the environment and how to look after it. This course will cover creating simple tools, shelter building, fire lighting, including the 700,000 age old practice of frictions fires, a technique still used today. The day will be round off with a walk through ancient woodland to learn what your ancestors would have foraged for.

Can't make the April course? We are running another bushcraft course at Crickley Hill Country Park on Saturday 21st May
