Festive treats for garden birds

Something the wildlife in your garden will love this Christmas - the perfect alternative to tinsel!

Winter is tough for our garden friends - providing them with fresh food and water offers a lifeline for those in need, here's another idea for your Wildlife Christmas Tree, so they can tuck in to a feast on the big day too!

You'll need:

  • Fruit (fresh apple or pear)
  • Cheese
  • Dried cranberries
  • String
  • Something sharp to pierce your pieces

Make a big enough hole in your edible bits to thread them onto your string - get creative with colours and even cut out festive shapes! Layer the various foods amd make sure there's something for everyone.

Then deck your trees and hedges with this fabulously wildlife-friendly alternative to garlands and tinsel.

Other things suitable for our winged friends include cranberries, other dried fruits, peanuts (not roasted or salted), plain popcorn, grapes - take your pick and they'll take theirs!
