Extinction isn’t just threatening flora and fauna overseas. Right here in Gloucestershire, there are precious and beautiful species that could vanish forever.

That's why we urgently need your help today.

We have some of the country’s rarest and most fragile wildflowers on our doorstep. But they are in rapid decline. Many are now only found on nature reserves managed by Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust.

It’s no coincidence that they are still clinging on in our reserves. By carefully managing the land, we can make sure that whole ecosystems can thrive, and an array of wildlife and wildflowers flourish.

With your support, we can carry out vital work.

As summer approaches, we urgently need to carry out vital work in our reserves, but we can only do that with your help. Your gift today could ensure we can create the ideal conditions in each habitat for our flora and fauna.

Expert management is vital for wildlife as well as wildflowers. Creating rides in woodlands will encourage Bechstein’s and barbastelle bats as well as nightingales. Careful management on wetland sites will benefit curlews, lapwings, redshank and even the common crane as well as newts and common lizards.

Please help us carry out vital habitat management this summer by making your donation today.

Anyone who makes a donation to the May 2017 Rarities Appeal by 30th June 2017 will be entered into a prize draw to win a behind-the-scenes guided tour with a reserve manager to see the rarities you are supporting. Click for terms & conditions.
