The rock faces offer an interesting flora and fauna including many nesting birds and invertebrates.
A large deep quarry used by the British Mountaineering Council (under restrictions) . A good range of plants has colonised the rock face and boulder-strewn floor. Many ferns grow in the rock crevices and the boulders support a variety of mosses. Of the many woodland birds which visit the quarry, turtle dove and wood warbler are regularly heard.
