New Woorgreens Volunteer Team

Location: Woorgreens Nature Reserve

Opportunity type: Work Party

Available on: Wednesdays, and Saturdays

Duration: From 30/08/2017 to 28/03/2018

Join our newest volunteer group at Woorgreens Nature reserve, a ‘flagship’ reserve in the heart of the Forest of Dean.

The reserve has been transformed from a conifer plantation to a variety of beautiful and variable habitats including marshes, lakes and heaths, making it an amazing place to visit.

The reserve is in a critical phase of its development being less than 10 years since it was a coniferous plantation. We are therefore looking for volunteers who would like to help manage this unique reserve, helping to maintain and improve its habitat diversity. Volunteers will join Frank Rainer; Volunteer Warden for the reserve who will use his experience to guide the group’s management work of the site, creating habitat for ground nesting birds, reptiles, dragonflies and much more.

From September the group will run every Wednesday and fortnightly on Saturdays from 10am-2pm until March 2018 where it will break for the summer.

So please join us to help Woorgreens fulfil its potential as a truly amazing wildlife reserve.
