Day 2: It's Boxing Day

Today is the perfect day to walk off your Christmas pudding, brandy butter and other treats!

We have over 60 nature reserves for you to choose from with information boards, way-marked trails and hides for wildlife watching. If it has snowed (or even if it' just muddy!), look for tracks and prints. Keep an eye out for the tiny footprints of mice, voles and small birds, not just the larger prints of foxes, badgers and deer.

Our reserves are wild places, havens for wildlife, but ideal places for us to escape our busy lives and to become immersed in nature. They are places to recharge, places of inspiration, and ‘green gyms’ too!

Even if it’s drizzling grab your waterproofs and wellies and a flask of tea – perhaps even a mince pie if you have any left or can fit any in.
