For a brilliant afternoon stroll, head to Cirencester, and follow the colourful hares around the town. Walk leaflets are available from the Tourist Information Centre or by calling us.

The pretty Cotswold Town of Cirencester is a pleasant place for an afternoon stroll, and the opportunity for some shopping. But for a different view of the town, pop into the Tourist Information Centre and pick up a copy of our Hare Festival Way - a self-guided walk around Cirencester, that showcases where the wild things are in the middle of an urban space.

This walk was established by Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust using funds raised by the 2014 Cirencester March Hare Festival, organised by the Cirencester Community Development Trust. In partnership with Cirencester Town Council we have created this walk to follow the River Churn and connect up some of the town’s green spaces and best kept secrets!

Many local residents and schools are involved in the creation and upkeep of this walk, which aims to celebrate Cirencester’s natural and historical heritage by improving access to some of the town’s little known green areas. We have also created new wildlife areas and aim to continue to improve the town into the future, in partnership with many others, for wildlife and for people.

You can buy a copy of the walk leaflet from Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust Conservation Centre at Robinswood Hill and the Tourist Information Centre in the town, give us a call for more information on 01452 383333.
