Do One Thing
Do One Thing is a four-year project aiming to help people to take their first step in helping the environment and wildlife.Â
This project is based in Cheltenham, Gloucester, the Forest of Dean and Tewkesbury and is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund Grant. This project is partnered with Tewkesbury Nature Reserve, Forest Voluntary Action Forum, Planet Cheltenham and Gloucestershire Gateway Trust.
Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust aims to reach 1 in 4 people in Gloucestershire by 2030 and Do One Thing intends to play a large part in this through supporting people to take simple actions to benefit the environment.

Pilot Project
This follows on from a one-year pilot of this project in Cheltenham that ended in May 2023, funded by the Platinum Jubilee Community Fund, which supported members of the community to take small scale actions for nature. This involved workshops, presentations and ‘how-to’ videos on YouTube. This pilot identified that many young people have eco-anxiety, and welcomed ideas to help them make sustainable changes to their lifestyle.Â
Following its success, this project will continue and expand to reach more people to get involved with nature and show that even small actions can collectively make a big difference.
