GWT launches new funding for community groups involved in conservation projects

From this September, community groups will be eligible to apply for funding for conservation projects in Gloucestershire, thanks to the launch of the new My Wild Space Fund. The small grant scheme is administered through Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust on behalf of Gloucestershire Environmental Trust
(GET) to community groups who wish to help directly with biodiversity conservation in the county.

Community groups, including schools and parish councils will be eligible to apply for grants of up to £5,000 to help cover project costs such as equipment, professional labour and education materials. Applicants will also have the expert guidance of a Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust Community Wildlife Officer to make sure the project achieves its objectives. For grants over £500, 10% will fund development support of the GWT Community Wildlife Officer where required.
