Lippets Grove

Part of a large area of ancient woodland, it is the best site in the county for the martagon lily, a naturalized plant which is uncommon in the county along with a rich variety of spring flowers including wood anemone, cuckooflower, bluebell, ramsons and herb-Paris. This is a great place to see wild flowers throughout the year and an impressive array of woodland birds, whilst listening to the mewing buzzards overhead.

Part of a large area of ancient woodland, it adjoins Caswell Wood and Passage Grove, which drop down a steep 600-foot slope to the river.

The Martagon Lily, a naturalized plant, uncommon in the county, is scattered throughout the reserve, along with a rich variety of spring flowers including wood anemone, cuckooflower, bluebell, ramsons and herb-Paris. Ash, wild cherry, silver birch and sycamore stand tall above the sparse understorey of goat willow, elder, hazel and travellers-joy.

An impressive range of woodland birds can be found here, so it's a great place to come for quiet reflection whilst listening to the buzzards mewing as they circle overhead.
