About the event
Named after one of the founders of Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust, and was adopted by the Trust in 1978, Stuart Fawkes Nature Reserve is classified as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and contains Salvia pratensis, found on just 21 sites in the country.
Just next to Stuart Fawkes Nature Reserve is Box Wood, which we will also be visiting on this walk. The residents of Box village purchased this woodland in 2017, which is now managed by GWT with the help of volunteers. The woodland is being managed by reintroducing coppicing, creating open areas of grassland (glades) and clearing invasive species.
Come find out more about how both amazing sites are being managed for wildlife and the wilder future.
