Lloyd of The Flies Bug Hunt 2026

Key Art for Lloyd of the Flies landscape

From the 18th July until 7th September, Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust are partnering with Aardman to bring you the "Lloyd of the Flies Bug Hunt", an exciting trail around Robinswood Hill, developed in partnership with the Royal Entomological Society.

Lloyd is a young fly who always gets into sticky situations and stars in the Aardman animated series "Lloyd of the Flies". Lloyd and his family have booked into stay at a luxury bug hotel, but Lloyd's lost the map! Help Lloyd follow the trail around Robinswood Hill, to find the hotel, round up his friends and family and learn all about the wonderful world of insects along the way with fun facts to learn, provided by the RES.

To complete the the trail, you'll need to download the free app from the Appstore or Google Play using the links at the bottom of the page, and find the answer to FAQs including device compatibility here.

Then just enter our location code 4682 and make your way to the first marker at the bottom of the path by the playground, the hunt is on!

At each stop on the trail, you'll find a marker to scan using the app which unlocks a variety of animated scenes, so you can snap photos and videos with with Lloyd and his friends! By the end of the trail you'll have ticked off all the bugs on your list. You'll then be able to enter a free prize draw to win a £50 voucher, kindly donated by one of our supporters. All you'll need to do is pop your email address into the form and you're in the draw,

We also have "Lloyd of the Flies" activity and sticker packs available at the cafe, which work alongside the trail and then you can take Lloyd home with you and keep the fun going.
