Businesses supporting Schools Bursaries

Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust offers bursary school trips to nature reserves for Gloucestershire schools in areas of socio-economic deprivation with 20/30% free school meals and above.

There are more than 30 local primary schools with a 30% Free School Meals rate, and 80+ schools with Free School Meals percentage of 20% and above in Gloucestershire. These rates vary each year. Trips are currently offered at Robinswood Hill and Crickley Hill.

Each bursary trip costs £1200, and this sum can be raised either by a business donation, or colleague fundraising.  We can help with ideas if you’d like your teams to consider fundraising, and we can share stories of the impact your incredible gift will make to schools and young people, who might not otherwise have the chance to experience nature in this way.

We would like to publicly thank you for your support for providing a bursary school trip, which will provide an opportunity for you to connect your colleagues with your purposeful support for your local community, and for you to share with your wider network. 

It’s vital that we ensure as many local children as possible can connect with nature close to them, supported by our amazing Wilder Learning Team, to give them the introduction and confidence to continue engaging with wild spaces, and to gain from all the wellbeing benefits this delivers.
