ERDF Wild Towns will improve the connectivity of greenspaces from Stonehouse, through Stroud and on to Nailsworth through restoration and creation of habitats along the cycle path.

The ERDF project will allow the local community of Cinderford greater access to nature and create and improve habitats for some of the rare species which reside in Ruspidge Halt and surrounding area.

ERDF Wild Towns is targeting four areas within Stonehouse. These are the Court View greenspace, Boakes Drive community greenspace and two areas on Wharfdale Way. Court View greenspace hosts an important population of Great Crested newts.

The ERDF Wild Towns Project will enhance current greenspaces in Moreton in Marsh through management and creation of wildflower meadows along with the installation of accessibility features into them.

Sensory gardens, wildflowers meadows and river restoration are just some of the exciting changes happening to this town that sits beside the River Coln.

From restoring native bluebell populations in woodlands to giving barn owls new places to call home, the second largest town in the Cotswolds is become wilder.

The creation of wildflower meadows, a bat hibernaculum tunnel, restoration of the weirs and tree planting are all happening in Cirencester.

The Wild Towns project will create, connect and enhance green spaces for wildlife in seven towns across Gloucestershire.
